Shuangta Food Receives Another National-Level Agricultural Trade Honor, Highlighting Its Strong International Competitiveness.

Recently, the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released the “List of High-Quality Entities Cultivated for High-Quality Development of Agricultural International Trade in 2025.” Shuangta Food was successfully included on the list thanks to its outstanding performance in areas such as international trade, quality compliance, and brand building. This marks another national-level agricultural trade honor the company has earned, following its recognition in 2022 as a “National-Level Base for High-Quality Development of Agricultural International Trade.” To gain a deeper understanding of the company’s path to internationalization and its core competitive advantages, our reporter visited Shuangta Food to explore the growth logic behind its “hardcore strength” and decode the secrets behind its status as a “high-quality entity” at the national level.

“This selection as a ‘High-Quality Entity’ is not only recognition from the state for our sustained dedication to agricultural international trade, but also a comprehensive assessment of the company’s overall strength,” said Zhang Shucheng, Deputy General Manager of Shuangta Food, as he showed reporters the honors Shuangta Food has received. Dozens of international certification certificates stood out prominently. When agricultural products go global, certification is the first hurdle to clear. The company has established a comprehensive certification framework covering ISO quality management systems, HACCP food safety management systems, HALAL certification, and more. Among these, the AEO Advanced Customs Certification plaque and the FDA “Zero-Problem” audit certification are particularly noteworthy. The AEO Advanced Certification can be regarded as a “green pass” for global trade, significantly boosting customs clearance efficiency.

In terms of brand and market strategy, Shuangta Food has already registered nine international trademarks in key markets such as Europe and the U.S., Southeast Asia, and other regions. The brand influence of “China Shuangta” is steadily expanding worldwide. Currently, the company’s products—including fans, protein, and fiber—have entered more than 80 countries and regions globally, and Shuangta has established long-term, stable partnerships with numerous Fortune Global 500 companies. Its pea protein products continue to see their global market share rise steadily, firmly cementing its position as an industry leader. Behind these remarkable achievements lies the company’s deep commitment to innovation across the entire value chain and to a circular economic model. “How can we maximize the value of a single pea? The answer lies in our uniquely developed ‘1+N’ circular economy model,” explained Zhang Shucheng. “The ‘1’ represents the core raw material—the pea—while the ‘N’ stands for the more than ten extended industrial chains that span from starch and protein extraction to fiber utilization, wastewater anaerobic digestion for power generation, and the conversion of waste residues into organic fertilizers that are returned to farmland—thus truly achieving green utilization across the entire value chain.”

Relying on digital transformation and the application of green, low-carbon technologies, Shuangta Food has established a three-in-one production system—combining an “innovative factory, a green factory, and a smart factory.” Its product lines have not only earned organic certification and low-GI certification but have also seen their added value multiplied through technological innovation. Pea protein and fiber, originally used as feed ingredients, have been extensively applied in high-end sectors such as health foods, special medical foods, pet products, and even food items following R&D upgrades. Moreover, the core technology for extracting antimicrobial peptides from pea-processing wastewater has been granted invention patents in multiple countries including Canada and Belgium, becoming a crucial component of the company’s technological moat.

When asked by reporters about strategies for dealing with the complex international economic and trade environment, Zhang Shucheng said that technological innovation is the core source of confidence. “In the field of pea protein, we already hold more than 70 authorized patents, are involved in numerous national and provincial key R&D programs, and collaborate with multiple universities on industry-academia-research initiatives, continuously driving product upgrades.” He revealed that the company’s high-end protein products are undergoing continuous upgrades, and their diversified protein marketing efforts have reached markets worldwide. High-end protein products such as protein peptides are emerging as new growth drivers for the company and are becoming key growth areas for exports. In response to the increasingly challenging international trade landscape in recent years, Shuangta Food has achieved high-quality industrial development by tapping into emerging international markets and enhancing its brand’s core competitiveness.

It is reported that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is launching a program to cultivate high-quality entities for the high-quality development of agricultural international trade in 2025. The selected “National High-Quality Entities” will receive enhanced support, strengthened marketing and promotion efforts, and optimized public services. Through initiatives such as organizing these entities to participate in major agricultural product exhibitions and fairs overseas, conducting diverse specialized promotional matchmaking events, and leveraging concentrated media resources for a series of featured broadcasts, the program aims to boost the international visibility of these national high-quality entities and their export products.

Taking this as an opportunity, Shuangta Food will continue to integrate industrial resources, deepen its efforts in international market development and global brand building, and wholeheartedly strive to become a benchmark for high-quality development of China’s agricultural foreign trade, injecting more “Shuangta strength” into rural revitalization and the building of a strong agricultural nation.
